Vice President: Bob Silva would like to remind the delegates that when they have their annual meeting to get their list of judges filled out and send back to him as soon as possible. This will make it easier for him to get judges for the championship trial. You will need 8 judges for the NEBGF trial and 3 judges for the AKC National.

Please put them in order.

46 clubs out of the federation sent in results.

All Age: 72 little males qualified, big males: 97, Little female: 108, big female: 17

Field trial Secretary: Blaine Grove did a great job organizing the photo shoot and distributing the feed.

Gary Slick asked all the delegates to pull their voting ballets out of their packet. In the packet was a list of Nominees for Nationals, BAC Representative, and Host Club for 2012. Each delegate has a vote.

The results are as follow:

Kevin McEwen, Todd Nigro, Jack Couperus, Ed Sankey, Bruce McNeilly and Stan Carpenter.

AKC National Committee will pick 2 from list.

BAC Representative: Bob Silva (current), John Gibble, and Todd Seitz.

Host Club for 2012: Lebanon Beagle Club

Old Business:

BAC Representative: Bob Silva, reports new rules that passed.

Beagle field trial rule changes- Effective November 1, 2010.

1. Allows club officers to judge their club’s events. Changes Chapter 5, Section 1

to: No member of the field trial committee or the field trial secretary will be

approved to be advertised as a judge of the club’s licensed or member trial.

2. Clarifies that dogs in second and subsequent series must be run in the order

called back by the judges. Addition to Procedure 7-A:

At a brace/trio trial, for the first series the hounds shall be laid on the line in the

order drawn unless all handlers involved in the brace/trio agree to a different

order.

For second & subsequent, the hounds shall be laid on the line in the order

called back.

Beagle 2- Couple Pack Rule Change- Effective November 1, 2010

  • Maintains the credit time clock but allows the judges more flexibility in applying their judgment to the quality of the hunt. Changes Procedure 9, #15 to:
Judge’s evaluation of the pack’s performance is of primary importance in determining the pack’s placement. A credit time clock will be maintained and should be used as a secondary evaluation tool. The credit time clock is run when three hounds are tonguing the line, making forward progress, and the fourth hound is in the pack. The credit time clock will be stopped when this is not the case, the pack is split, stuck at a check, the pack in general is not productive or not making forward progress.

Tele Conference: Items to be voted on

  • Award a Grand Field Champion title for dogs that have earned an adequate number of wins and points in Brace and Gundog Federation Championship trials. These trials must be licensed by the AKC.
Delegates discuss; you will have to pay $3.50 per capita fee to AKC, Purina

could not sponsor and you will not get the double points, NEBGF

championship trial will have to be advertise as a license trial,

it will have to be open to the public, etc.

Delegates said we will bring in more beagles to trial if we leave it the way it is

now.

The NEBGF delegates voted: Against.

  • Allow the next best qualifier to move up. This would allow the NBQ to move up when a dog that placed is found to be ineligible. If a hound is disqualified
even after ribbons are given out, all hounds will move up.

The NEBGF delegates voted: Agree

  • In first series, run dogs as drawn. Drop “should a second hound owned by the
same person be drawn in the same brace or trio, that hound will change

places with the next hound drawn which is not so owned.

This change will be made with a hound drawn later if possible, but may be

made with a hound drawn earlier if necessary.

The running together of two or three such hounds may be

permitted in the first series when a separation is impossible but in no other

case.”

The NEBGF delegates voted: Agree

Purina contact renew: Mike Luchetta said Purina is not giving contracts for next year. Mike said he will do what he did this year.

New Business:

Next year the Field Trial Championship, winners will receive awards determined by the committee. Tri-Tronics collars will be handed out to the qualifying winners as was done this year. Each association will get a Tri-Tronics collar so they can take it back to their clubs and do what would best benefit their organization. Discussion followed and the delegates felt that this was the best course of action.

The NEBGF delegates voted: In favor

Mike Luchetta just wants to remind everybody about Purina points. Make sure you advertise trials in national publication with Purina logo or you will not get your points.

When sending in your results for trials, you have 30 days from date of trial to get results back to Donna or the hounds that qualified will not get credit. Donna had to turn down some hounds at the trial this year because their results were not sent in on time which means their hound was not qualified.

Delegates had a lengthy discussion on this problem.

The by-laws states: Article 16, Section D.

Clubs or Associations that do not forward results, or fail to forward results in a timely manner may be prohibited from holding any NEBGF qualifying trials the remainder of the calendar year and the following calendar year. Clubs or Associations that advertise a trial as a Federation qualifying trial must submit the trial results to the Federation Vice President within 30 days of the date of the trial. The Vice President may assess a late fee of $25.00 for any results received more than 30 days following the last day of the trial. In no instance will results from one calendar year be accepted after February 1 of the following calendar year, except for Derby Qualifying Trial results. For Derby results, no results will be accepted after the Championship Trial has started.

The NEBGF delegates voted: In favor enforce the late fee

Web Site: Carl Post does the IBGF web site and he would like to redesign our web site. Carl will charge the federation a set up cost and fee, once web site is up and running. He will charge $250.00 a year for maintaining the website.

Everything will be like it is now except for the point system. How the website will work is each club’s secretary will have access to their club so they can enter their results. Donna will have to go into the website after she receives your check from the trial and accept the results. Once this is done, the points will be updated. Once results are accepted, you can print off a copy for yourself and Donna will print off a copy.

If your field trail secretary feels uncomfortable or just not sure how to work the web site, you can still send Donna your results and she can put them in for you.
