Hello friends,
Early in my tenure I religously sat down and wrote a monthly newsletter, unfortunately things in my life have changed and I just cannot keep up with the news going on around our association. Hopefully I can catch you all up to speed.

First off we had an association meeting at Glendale. During this meeting we voted in Towanda Beagle Club into the association. While I have never made the trip to Towanda, I have only heard remarkable things about their club members and their top notch facilities, I believe their addition will only improve our association.

Two of our association members have been having "career years", and coming from what they have done in the pasts anybody that knows them, knows that they must have some "hot" dogs to do what they have been doing week in and week out. Perry Piacentino of Fort Plain has won, I believe 9 out of 11 IBGA licensed trials this year, with his two bitches Kiaa and Ella (both of which finished at Cayuga's June trial), in addition to finishing Kiaa and Ella, Perry also finished FC Adirondack Mtn. Foxie at Java Village with a 4th. Danny Lang with the assistance of his son Max, have finished two little males: FC Lang's Little Eddie and FC Lang's Little Muddy Waters, while Lang's Little Whitey still lacks a win to finish. Danny and Max (along with the rest of the family) have won 7 licensed trials this year. Congrats to those to kennels on an amazing start to the year.

New dads and old dogs. Jimmy Fowles and Rodney Cole both have had their significant others give birth to babies this spring, at the same time both were carrying around very nice hounds that needed only points to finish, and both dogs were able to accompolish this. Congrats to Jimmy on FC JD's Roundhill's Angie and congrats to Rodney on his FC Hoagie Hero.

The IBGA is still showing itself as probably the most prominent association in all of beagling. If you look at the nominations for the Better Beagling Hall of Fame, the following members and dogs could use your votes: IFC Maravic's Blue Ninja, FC Nomad's Buckshot Mr. Bill, FC Sherman's Babbling Butch, Stan Carpenter, and Don Arnold. What a compliment it would be to our association if one of these nominees could make it in. The Small Pack Option Awards will be handed out at the IBGA Championship at Cayuga Lake.

Speaking of the IBGA Championship, Carl has diligently been working to finished up the final touches on the trial. We have lined up some nice prizes and it should be a good one. A reminder that the association meeting will be Friday night at 8PM at Cayuga Lake's club house. We are planning a banquet type awards for Saturday night, along with the meal. Make plans to spend the weekend September 10th and 11th.

There are some excellent trials coming up this summer, Cayuga Lake, Berkshire (TCP/all age), Fort Plain, Towanda, and New Scotland. Pair up, car pool, make it happen, our trials have been short entries this year (and I'm guilty of it too), but you can get there with out spending a weeks pay.

News back from the NEBGF, we had a good representation! Jake Vernon from Glendale won the 15" Male Derby with Honey Hollow's Alan Jackson. A big thank you to Gary Slick for his tenure as NEBGF President, and a big welcome back to John Gibble to his second term as president.
In closing, this is my last couple months as president of this association. I have truly enjoyed my tenure and I have loved seeing this association grow. There are plenty of energetic people in our clubs that may want this position, unfortunately I just don't have the time to balance this position, my family and training my own dogs, and I feel like the association is the one that is suffering.

Keep em running
Rob
